Gerry Mulligan's music resonates in the jazz club

The music of the great saxophonist Gerry Mulligan has faded somewhat into oblivion. But it is an important milestone in the history of jazz music, and "his" baritone saxophone has left deep marks.

All the more pleasing is that the Jazz Initiative Eifel will present this music. A quartet from northern Holland, calling itself "Five Brothers," will perform it in the style of the Gerry Mulligan Quartet in the original lineup. The musicians are all trained jazz players and studied at the Prins Claus Conservatory in Groningen. The lineup includes Laurens Blinxma on baritone saxophone/arrangements, Miguel Martinez on alto saxophone, Bert van Erk on double bass, and Sebastian Demydzuck on drums.

The Monday Night Jazz will take place on Monday, July 5, 2027, starting at 8 p.m. in the Jazz Ballroom at the Bowling Center Bitburg, Charles-Lindbergh-Allee 5. Admission is free.
