Sophia Oster Quartett im Festsaal Haus Beda
Nov 23, 2026
Bitburg
The young pianist, singer, and composer Sophia Oster is undoubtedly one of the promising musical newcomers in the German jazz scene and she has already earned a worthy place in the jazz world. She recorded her debut album in 2021, followed by the EP "All Smiles," on which she can be heard, among others, with Brad Mehldau's drummer Jorge Rossy and the New Yorker saxophonist Bill McHenry. She is extraordinarily versatile and in high demand.
Her special touch on the piano and her warm, sonorous voice bring the artist's music to life, and together with her fellow musicians, she creates a level that is permeated by deep spirituality.
In addition to her own compositions, which are difficult to confine to one genre but show her diverse roots in jazz, classical music, and gospel, the musician is also inspired by the music of Brazilian artists such as
Antonio Carlos Jobim, Milton Nascimento, or Djavan, as well as by Wayne Shorter, Joni Mitchell, Gershwin, Ellington, and many more.
With her Sophia Oster Quartet featuring American-German bassist Paul Imm, saxophonist Konstantin Herleinsberger, and Brazilian drummer Rafael Müller, she can regularly be heard in Germany and beyond. Her new album "Praise" will be released on September 5, 2025.
The quartet consists of Sophia Oster, piano, vocals, comp, Konstantin Herleinsberger, sax, Paul Imm, bass, and Rafael Müller, drums.
The Sophia Oster Quartet will perform on Monday, November 23, 2026, in the Festsaal of Haus Beda in Bitburg. Start at 7 PM.
Ticket 15 Euros.
The concert is a joint event of the Jazz Initiative Eifel and the Dr. Hanns Simon Foundation.
