Hut or castle burning in the Südeifel

The hut burning is an ancient tradition in many places of the Südeifel.

On the so-called "Sheep Sunday" - the first Sunday after Ash Wednesday, winter is symbolically burned by the burning of a cross.

In the following places, the burning of the cross takes place after dark (around 18:00-18:30).
