Bubbling mineral springs

Dodenburg-Dierscheid, approx. 11 km, approx. 300 m elevation

Varied circular hike starting and ending in Dodenburg. Highlights include the bubbling Victoria and sulfur springs, numerous cultural assets, and relaxing forest passages.
Beautiful, not continuously marked circular hike through the 2012 Meulenwald forest, with many diverse sights along the route. Behind Dodenburg, the dreamy Bendersbach Valley is traversed, and close by, the first of many mineral springs bubbles by the wayside.
In Heckenmünster, it's worth taking a quick look at the parish church, which you pass directly by. The journey continues through the peaceful village center. The impressive village well with the spring deity recalls the Roman spring sanctuary around the sulfur spring Wallenborn. The well-known mineral springs Victoria and sulfur springs just beyond Heckenmünster are further highlights of the tour. In the charming Eifel village of Dierscheid, a short break in the beer garden of the coffee barn Berggeist is recommended. From here, the tour continues past the village museum and the church back to Dodenburg.
