On Friday, September 26, 2025, the village support association Messerich-Birtlingen will host an informative and experience-rich evening for young and old about bats.

Meeting point is at 7:00 PM at the community center in Messerich, Schulstraße 1. In the first part of the event, Markus Thies from the Nature Conservation Association (NABU) Südeifel will present the bat species of Südeifel and their habits in a picture-based lecture.

Afterwards, participants (children with supervision) will depart for a small hike to the Nims to observe and listen to the departure and hunting activities of bats in the approaching darkness.
Flashlights can be brought along.
