Casino-Salon-Orchester Traben-Trarbach
Feb 28, 2026
Bitburg
The Casino-Salon Orchestra Traben-Trarbach takes you on a nostalgic journey into the musical world of the Golden 1920s, 30s, and 40s. Jürgen Kullmann from Traben-Trarbach founded the combo in 2010 when he came across a box of original recordings of popular tunes from the last century. The name of the orchestra comes from the first rehearsal space in the "Alte Casino" in Traben-Trarbach.
The ensemble exclusively plays melodies from the shellac record era, both in original arrangements and in the typical orchestral instrumentation of that time. This follows the Berlin form with a complete string section comprising three violins, cello, and double bass. Thus, the atmosphere of Berlin hotels of that time is created. To this day, the classics of this era remain unforgettable and provide the listener with insight into the emotional world of people back then. The melodies are more relevant than ever and reflect the dreams and longings of people then as well as partially today.
The orchestra is known for larger performances in its homeland, in Trier, in Saarland, and in Luxembourg, as well as for its participation in the film "Die andere Heimat" by Edgar Reitz.
